The company originated as a show put on by Jenaé Plymale as a small project to earn some extra cash and to find a fun new way to market web startups by wearing swag t-shirts and spreading buzz about them with online social media tools. However, this small project instantly turned into Internet phenomenon, literally overnight. Picked up and plastered on the front page of one of the Internet's most popular blogs TechCrunch, it was soon both heralded and disputed among countless web logs (blogs), podcasts and major editorial publications worldwide. Initially Girl in Your Shirt's appeal was mainly captured by web entrepreneurs and much of the startup crowd for introductions on new startups and was seen as a creative marketing tool for companies to be placed into the limelight. This show, originally hosted by Jenaé Plymale, introduces a daily tech startup while wearing the company swag shirt.
Through further evaluation Jenaé and her partner George Plymale decided to restructure the company to be able to sustain much larger growth and to be able to go further down the rabbit hole of creative experiential marketing, being one of the few companies in the nation that is beating this innovative drum in 2008. This style of marketing is truly the next generation of marketing and our endeavors at "in Your Shirt", Inc. are pivotal as they combine this real world touch or experience with online metrics and analytics through college girls throughout the nation, and soon to be world.
